A palatial festive lunch!

Fancy an alternative Christmas celebration in a £5 million palace in Suffolk? From Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th December the Maharishi Peace Palace in Rendlesham is the setting for this Christmas lunch with a difference.

Each day guests can enjoy a hot, spiced apple juice followed by a two course vegetarian, organic, buffet lunch of nut and cranberry roast, with roasted vegetable dhal, rosemary potatoes, vegetable medley and chef’s winter salad with pomegranate and for dessert a filo spiced mincemeat and apple tart served with Chantilly cream all cooked by top Suffolk chef, Steve Carroll, also a Rendlesham resident.

Following the delicious lunch, there will be an opportunity for guests to see what else the palace has to offer on a tour of the magnificent building highlighting the beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms and lovely meeting rooms ending with Christmas carols around the grand piano in the sumptuous central hall with views to the sky.

Keith Parker, one of the board members of the Peace Palace, says, “We are so lucky to have this fabulous building within our Rendlesham community.  In its first year we have held over 100 courses in Transcendental Meditation attracting international visitors who have stayed in the palace and enjoyed the wonderful food from talented chef, Steve Carroll.”

“We are excited to now have the opportunity to open the Peace Palace to a wider audience with our initial events of alternative Christmas lunches which we have kept at a very reasonable £15 per person as we want to welcome visitors from the local area who will have never visited us before to experience the tranquil Peace Palace.  There will be an opportunity to buy from a selection of soft drinks and local fruit juices to accompany your delicious lunch as we don’t serve alcohol on the premises,” he continued,

“You don’t need to know anything about Transcendental Meditation to come along – the lunches are open to everyone!  So if you haven’t yet booked your staff Christmas lunch or would like to have an alternative Christmas lunch with family and friends, please call Margaret on 01394 421136 to book your place.”

The Christmas lunch experience which will start at midday can also be booked by emailing Margaret at admin@peacepalace.org.uk or by messaging us on Facebook www.facebook.com/peacepalaceUK.  A £5 non-refundable deposit per person will be needed at the time of booking with the balance payable on arrival.
