Ipswich Mayor's Civic Service

The annual civic service for the mayor of Ipswich takes place this month on Sunday 19th October.
Councillor Stefan Long will be joined by fellow mayors from across Suffolk and Civic Leaders from Ipswich for the Civic Service, which will also include a procession between the Town Hall and Ipswich Minster.
It will celebrate the town and those who perform civic duties for the benefit of its communities. The procession will start at around 3.15pm, with the Civic Service, to be led by Reverend Tom Mumford, starting at 3.30pm.
Councillor Long, pictured, says: “The Civic Service gives us an opportunity to bring the community together in the heart of Ipswich and to recognise and give thanks to those who, collectively, make so many important contributions to the civic life of our town.
“This year marks 825 years since Ipswich was granted its Town Charter and so the service will reflect upon those centuries of history and the Charter’s anniversary celebrations. The service is open to everyone and I hope that people from across Ipswich will join me for this occasion, the first Civic Service to be held at Ipswich Minster since its redesignation.”
