Go nuts for doughnuts!

Go nuts for doughnuts!

Indulge us for a moment in an idle daydream: what if you could split yourself into two? One to cook dinner, the other lounging around in pjs; one to meet all those pesky work deadlines, the other to sip Prosecco. It’s fun to fantasise, but really, self-care shouldn’t be a daydream, it should be something we all make time for in our busy lives – especially those with young children, who eat up your time like nobody’s business!

So, back in May, we were delighted to feature the Container Project’s ‘Me Time’ sessions in our magazine. Run by founders May Cornet, Alice-Andrea Ewing and Emily Richardson, these were six weeks’ of relaxed, creative activities, free to attend and accessible online, aimed at those who had become parents during the pandemic, or had children under the age of four.

May described the sessions as: “Creative activities in self-regulation and wellbeing. No prior experience of making art is necessary and there is no pressure to participate in the activities. Showing up is enough!”

This run of sessions has now come to an end, and we are thrilled to say that they have gone swimmingly! So much so, in fact, that May, Alice and Emily are looking to bring them back in the autumn – just watch this space!

To round off what has been a rousing success, the team at Container Projects now invites you to swing by on Friday, July 16th and visit them in person at the containers in Jetty Lane opposite Kingston Playing Field in Woodbridge. Elements from the sessions will be on display, but there are no activities are planned this time – this will simply be a relaxed and chatty get-together for all those who’ve enjoyed the sessions, and a chance to put some faces to the little Zoom windows we’ve all got used to seeing!

So, why not pop along for a cup of tea, a sticky doughnut, and (at last!) some grown-up conversation!

Head over to Jetty Lane on Friday, July 16th between 3-5pm to meet the team and claim your doughnut
